Our methods to teach Spanish

It is our goal to transmit the volunteers and the persons that are interested in learning the spanish language a high and adequate level of communication.

You need to be able to cope with all kinds of situations considering your communication skills in spanish. Those could be general information, like in a “small talk” telling your name, asking directions, the time, ect. or also a bit more complicated discussions over current events.

To fullfill this requirements we use a learning method, in which the student completly identifies with the latin american - in this case the ecuadorian culture- with all their characteristics and special features that are totally different from the spanish.

The student will live in an exclusive spanish speaking society and therefore has to deal with those new circumstances. In the Beginning he will express himself by using his body language and gradually he will pick up single words he will form short phrases with. During the spanish lessons he will be taught how to built gramatically and stylistic correct phrases with his basic knowledge. Continually the student will improve his speaking skills by living in a spanish speaking host family where he has to make use of his knowledge from class. Therefore he quickly gains self-confidance in himself and his spanish.

In our lessons we focus on communication. Here we distinguish three dimensions of communication: spanish conversation, gramatics and spanish in the context. The first dimension refers to every day life situations in a social and skill related aspect. The second one helps to improve the abillity of speaking to realise the understanding of gramatical structures and to use them in a conversation. The third dimension is aimed to stimulate the exchange of ideas, knowledge and opinions.

The spanish classes can be given in private- or group lessons.
