The Family

Volunteers will live with families who are representative of the majority of the Ecuadorian people; this will help the volunteer to strengthen their Spanish language skills, and become integrated and participative in the community, reach an understanding of the social reality and understand certain patterns of behaviour of Ecuadorians faced with day-to-day situations.

This living arrangement also aims to present a space in which the volunteer will feel comfortable, receive support, and participate in an active cultural exchange.

We cannot forget to mention the benefit that this living arrangement brings to the host family, in terms of their role as an essential part of a cultural exchange which contributes to mutual respect and understanding between different cultures, and world diversity. Equally, the hospitality and kind disposition of these host families is repaid monetarily so that they can cover the expenses generated by their guest.
